Ace of Swords
Light Visions Tarot
This week’s card is the Ace of Swords from the Light Visions Tarot by James R. Eads.
This Ace of Swords is in the middle of a Wintery landscape. The pine trees are being weighed down by the snow and ice. The wind is blowing and blustery. To me this indicates struggle, partially due to my view of Winter. It is a barren time of struggle. The days are short which can lead to feelings of lethargy and depression.
However, even with the Winter front creeping in, the stars are still clear and shining brightly. This could indicate some hope that the struggle will not last and that there will be good coming after the storm. Or, with the storm on the horizon, things could be good right now with the storm still coming.
Swords don’t just indicate struggle, they also indicate truth and mental clarity. This card can also be read as seeking the truth, proceeding with honesty, and seeing through illusions. The sword cuts through illusions and lies to let the truth shine through. However, with the wrong direction, the sword can be used to create struggle.
