Welcome to the Money Mindset Shift Podcast with me, Shelby Melissa! This is our fourth episode and we’re focusing on the one tool I use over and over again in my journal – the money mindset assessment! Let’s dig in!
When I restarted this journey, I committed to doing it my way. And part of that was creating an assessment.
I have my graduate degree in social work. Part of the curriculum was to take a Program Evaluation class. Or maybe it was one of the classes in a mandatory group, but which you one decided to take was up to you.
As you can tell, it’s been a while. lol.
So regardless, we learned about metrics, how to ask questions, etc. We already had research classes, so the math part wasn’t as big of a focus. thank goodness.
As part of the class, we helped create evaluations for a nonprofit. They had various programs that needed tracking to make sure they were achieving what they set out to do, plus the numbers helped for getting grants and support.
I brought this experience with me to my business.
And to my money mindset work.
So the first thing I did after making a commitment to myself, was to create an assessment to track my progress. And then of course also take the assessment. Wouldn’t do me much good to create it and then not also do it, lol.
This is the same assessment that give you in Limitless: The Money Mindset Journaling Bundle from your’s truly, which is now available!
The 45 Journal Prompts pdf is very nearly, my journal. It is the same questions and prompts that I used to create my first nearly $10k month, but also prompts that the beta testers have found supportive! They helped me add an additional two sections of prompts, and their feedback led to the creation of the Limitless: The Money Mindset Journaling Bundle!
You can get this bundle right now by heading over to slowmorningsco.com/limitless-journal-bundle/ which is also linked in the show notes.
So if you want to dig into your money story, heal your relationship with money, and open yourself to receiving more then the bundle is worth checking out!
Now back to the assessment.
Before we get to questions, it is important to know HOW to use them to your greatest benefit.
To do that, I would recommend making sure you have your journal nearby so you can answer them right away.
Ideally with assessments like this one, you want to answer the questions before you would begin any money mindset work. Unfortunately, that is difficult to do because you may already be creating shifts whether you are aware of them or not. But you definitely want to take it for the first time soon to get your baseline or starting-ish point.
Then, as you journal, unravel money programming that you’ve been given, and change your relationship with money – you’ll want to take the assessment again. Once a month is great, but any sort of standardized set of time is wonderful. (Every other month, once a quarter, etc.) The purpose of this is to track your growth over time and see how the “interventions” or the money mindset work you implemented influenced changes and growth!
Got your pen and paper ready? If not, hit pause and grab them!
Here’s the assessment!
1. How do I feel about money?
2. How do I want to feel about money?
3. What are my goals?
4. On a scale from 1-10, how satisfied am I with the relationship I have with money? (1 being not at all satisfied, 10 being completely satisfied.)
5. On a scale from 1-10, how close do I feel to my goals/vision? (1 being not close at all, 10 being I’m living it!)
That’s it!
