Self Care + Energy: Are you leaving your energy out of self care?

Your energy is important. So why are you leaving it out of your self care? We all know self care is important. Let’s incorporate it into your practices! Self Care + Energy: Are you leaving your energy out of self care? You probably hear about self care a lot – how important it is, things you should be doing, etc. But I’m going to guess you probably don’t hear as much about taking care of your energy. Your energy is vital towards your overall spiritual health. And I would venture to say well being, but I am not a doctor and there are not enough scientific studies to back this…

Where to Build Your Home And Where I Built Mine

Where to Build Your Home and Where I Built Mine: Building Shelter for the Extremes in Life I was rereading Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert, and this time taking notes while I focused on applying what I was reading to my current life situation, when I had another epiphany. (Two in one week!) It is also important to note that I had finished watching her TED talk on Success, Failure, and the Drive to Keep Creating. (It is a short one, less than ten minutes. Watch it please.) For Elizabeth, writing was her home. She explained that this home was built on the sweet spot between…

    Control Your Own Happiness

I was having some really hard days when I wrote this. I was crying, depressed, anxious. And I wanted out. So I decided to take control of my happiness. And here is that story. I’ve been having more days than not lately where I feel sad. More days than not where I am crying. I think about the life I cannot have right now, due to life circumstances, and I weep. I try, and fail, to make the best use of the single room I share with my husband. And I cry. For me, this sadness is a warning that depression is coming. Dealing with this is draining. I have…

Discover Your Greatest Tool – Your Intuition

Many people don’t use one of the greatest tools they have. And many others use it without ever developing this tool. So what am I talking about? Intuition of course! ¬†About Intuition: Intuition is commonly misunderstood as just a “women’s” thing or that it is only a warning system. But I can tell you that intuition is so much more than that! Intuition is the ability to know something before reasoning has taken place, or without prior learned knowledge. You just know something. It pops into your conscious. Almost like one of those annoying pop-ups on websites. Everyone has this ability. And everyone can develop this tool within themselves and…

Full Moon Ritual: Cleanse and Prepare

Dreams often tell us things. They help us sort through our consciousness and create understanding. But they can also contain messages and prophecies. And in my case, deliver a Full Moon Ritual! The shop has many items. On the counter is a basket of candles on sticks. The candles are no bigger than the average crayon. The sign says the whole basket is for $5. I can afford that, but my intuition tells me that they don’t belong there. I ask the woman behind the counter. She informs me that they indeed do not belong there and takes me to the correct display. I cannot afford all of them, so…

    When Passion Fades – Devotion

I was prompted to think about Devotion while taking Your Creative Self – a 28 Day Meditation Experience by Heather Waxman. Here is what I wrote in my journal, and posted to the Facebook Group in response to the question “Is there something that needs more devotion?”: Everything. I have a pattern of starting things but never really finishing them. Art. Stories. Projects. Books. Self-studies. Personal challenges. Etc. I get passionate, begin something, and then it fades for one reason or another. There is always an excuse. My prayer journal (/binder) is an example of this. I created it. Started using it. But then I told myself couldn’t keep a schedule…
