Shelby
Alright. Welcome! Today we have Elle with us.
Elle
Hi. Hello, I’m Elle!
Shelby
Elle is the owner and designer at AlchemyBloomsPDX, a micro urban flower farm producing beautiful bouquets and arrangements in Portland, Oregon. So if you live in the area, you absolutely need to grab some for your home, your bestie, your office, your business, and for your neighbor as an apology for when you finally returned that casserole dish you borrowed.
Now, obviously it’s still a bit cold there right now. So make sure to follow Elle on Instagram and Facebook at AlchemyBloomsPDX, additional links to the AlchemyBloomsPDX website and Etsy shop are in the show notes below. So welcome! Elle, is there anything else that you’d like to say to introduce yourself?
Elle
Um, no, not really. We can just roll on. I will just mention that, um, people can access, uh, uh, my blog. I have a blog, a fun little blog. Um, I need to get current on posting on it again, but, um, people might want to check it out anyway because I have recipes and stuff on there for like, um, like creating things with like edible flowers and herbs and like farm-fresh foods or garden fresh foods, stuff like that.
So I just thought I would like, point that out because, um, even though someone might not be local, they can still enjoy what I have to offer. So they can come and check out my blog. It, um, people can find my blog when you go to my website at www.alchemybloomspdx.comand you will see when you go to the website, um, all of the like little icons and there’ll be one that says blog on it.
So I just thought I would mention that.
Shelby
No, thank you for mentioning that. That is a good point. And it’s also good to point out because like, even in the off season in Portland, Oregon, you know, our listeners may be in Florida or somewhere where it’s a bit warmer and you have access to some of the fresher things like flowers and whatnot.
Elle
Right. Right. Well, you know, or people can just see like, a recipe that might be like, particular to this season. Like let’s say I like, utilize something that is like in season right now. Like, it could be anytime a year, if that makes sense.
Shelby
That makes total sense. So there is a lot on your website then that we all need to go check out.
Elle
Yeah. Yeah, I got a little gallery of photos, um, links to my, um, social media and Etsy. Yeah.
Shelby
I will make sure to have all of that in the show notes. So for all of our listeners, just scroll on down, you’ll be able to see all the links, you’ll be able to click them, and you’ll be able to go read those blog posts and access all of the yummy and delicious goodies, it sounds like with like, edible flowers and whatnot. So, if you haven’t already scrolled down to click those, feel free to do that and explore while you are listening. And today we’re actually going to talk a little bit about money mindset and a shift that Elle has made in her mindset. That’s a little bit different, so I wanted to share it all with you. So Elle, could you start us off with what money mindset means to you?
Elle
Yeah! Well, money mindset is a manifestation of your attitudes and beliefs about money. That is what it means to me.
Shelby
I like it. You’re so succinct too. I love how like, like how succinct it was, but it captured so much.
Elle
Yeah! You’re welcome.
Shelby
So, why, without getting into the shift itself yet ‘cause we’re going to tease everybody a little bit, why did you make the shift that you have? And we will talk about it again in a minute for everybody listening. So hold in there, but why did you make this shift?
Elle
Um, oh, like, why did I decide to do the particular thing or to have the mindset shift to have the shifts? Why did I decide to, why did I decide to cultivate a life of pleasure and happiness and like, doing things that like, light me up and turn me on, is that what you’re talking about?
Shelby
Yes! Because we had been talking and you were like, you know what, I actually made this shift and it was like, it clicked. And so money mindset might not actually be the focus for everybody. So I wanted to dive more into that.
Elle
Okay. Okay. Like how it all came about. Okay. I will, um, make a confession here. I had been working with another money mindset coach. And this was like, a very like, high cost program. And a lot of people had been like, I know a lot of people that have worked with this person. And they had, like, I had like recommendations all around me and I thought, oh, I’m going to have to check this person out. And I’m not going to say who it is or anything. I think this person’s like a wonderful coach and a wonderful person, but, um, okay. So during her program, it was like a four months program. She basically had said something about, and this is just kind of like where the catalyst was, where it kind of got me thinking. It’s not quite yet when I fully dived into it yet. So this is like a good kind of lead into it all. So I’d been working with this coach, and one of the things that she had said was, she says I never watched Netflix, you know? And she’s like, she goes, I don’t recommend anyone while you’re going through this program watch it. And this wasn’t like right in the beginning of our program, this was maybe about a month in, or maybe not even that much, maybe like three weeks in. And she’s like, I don’t watch it. And she says, I’ll only watch videos. Like, she watches videos and only if they’re informational, like something she can learn from. And I’m like, okay, you know, that makes sense. You know? And so I completely stopped watching Netflix and reading fiction books, like, everything that I did was, you know, I did everything that she recommended. I’m like, alright, I’m going to give up all these things and I’m going to just stay focused, which I think is not a bad idea. If you are like doing a program to just stay very super focused on that. But that’s just how she lives her life. And I’m thinking, okay, you know, I can maybe try that, living my life like that. Well, I noticed during the program, I would make little tiny shifts here and there. And it seemed like the program, there was half the people were making big huge shifts and like making tons of money. And then the other half were just like me. Just like making little tiny minuscule shifts. Well, it seemed like the coach was kind of almost like alluding to how the other half, like, you need to work harder, reevaluate yourself, are you really working the program. It was kinda like those feelings, you know? And I’m thinking, I’m doing every single thing possible. And so by the time that program was finished, I’m going to state this one thing and then I’m going to kind of go back and touch on some things because I think it’s important. So by the time I was done with that program, like, I don’t know, a few days after that program, I’m like, you know what? I’m gonna watch some Netflix because I can’t handle it anymore. I’m like, I’m going to do it, you know? So, anyway, what I wanted to say was, that I think it’s important to add in there, is I’ve been focused on money for so long. Like, let me try to think back in my mind how many years I’ve been having money as my focus. I would say, give me a moment here. Maybe something like, five years or something. I mean, I’ve always been aware of money, but I’m talking about where I actually had like, oh I’m aware of money mindset. I’m aware of coaches, I’m aware of these things. For maybe five, six years. I don’t know something like that.
So after having that experience with watching Netflix, I was like, this feels good. You know? I’m like, curled up, I’m on my bed, I’ve got my cup of tea. And it just felt really kind of, um, at that point it felt really extravagant almost, you know? Like, oh, I’m rewarding myself, you know, and that felt good.
And I would say the wheels started turning in my head. I’m thinking in the back of my mind, wow, shouldn’t happiness be my focus? And then I’m feeling good, like feeling good in my body, like experiencing pleasure and like, wow, this is fun. Shouldn’t that really kind of be more of my focus rather than money? Like, money, money, money, money, you know? And I’m thinking, yeah, you know what? Let’s kind of dip our toes in a little bit and just see what happens here. And then I’m kind of thinking in the back of my mind, I’m thinking I have a feeling if I focus on happiness and pleasure and what feels good, I bet other things will just kinda manifest, you know? Like things will probably fall into place. So essentially after that, I was thinking to myself, what makes me happy? What lights me up? So I kinda just started putting together little lists. Cause I’m thinking, how do you know? Like, if you don’t have a blueprint or something written down, what makes you happy? You know? I mean, a lot of people, they don’t even know what makes them happy, you know?
And so I kind of had to like, kinda like dig in deep and like, I just started like, kinda like journaling, like what do I like? Like, you know, oh, I love hiking and I love flowers. You know, like homegrown flowers, like growing flowers, working on the garden and taking baths. And, and so I basically just kinda like came up with this like, blueprint of like, these are the things that I really love and enjoy like a big, long list.
And, um, prior to that, when I was like, when money was my focus and my mindset, I was like, like all consumed with it. Like. Like I’ve got be journaling. I’ve gotta be meditating. I gotta do money meditations. I gotta like follow this person. And instead of like following this person or that person, I started kinda like digging in and tapping into what my intuition was telling me.
And my intuition was telling me, you know what? You need to have fun. You know, and so I just, I mean, it’s been a little challenging because of COVID and like so many things being like closed down and stuff like that. And cause that was like during, it was during this time period when all this is like coming to fruition.
But, um, I don’t know. I just like started thinking about like what makes me happy, what makes me feel comfortable like, and a lot of it is just like, like a lot of times because of this, I think because of COVID, a lot of it has to do with like nurturing myself, you know? Like what, like deeply feels good?
Well, like right now at this moment, it feels good to talk to Shelby Melissa, and I’m curled up with my heated blanket and I’ve got my, my water that I’ve, I, um, made some, uh, and made my own flower essence with flowers from my yard. And I made, this one is like corn flower essence that I added to this.
So, um, yeah, corn flowers are like super like, um, cooling and soothing to, like your stomach and like, you know, your, your mouth, like if you’re prone to getting like mouth ulcers and stuff, or it’s like super soothing for like your insides. So I just thought I’d add. I don’t know if that’s important or if anybody cares.
Shelby
You probably have information like that on your website too, and in the blog.
Elle
Not so much medicinal stuff, but, um, just a lot of like fun, like food stuff. Yeah. Like, like, um, I like to believe that plants and foods are like medicine, like medicinal and, um, are very healing and like certain plants, certain foods are super they’re like to me, flowers and plants are like they’re magical and they’re healing. And, um, yeah.
Shelby
I agree. Like there is like beauty and wonder, but then also deep connection and magic in plants and nature and animals. I don’t have the words for somebody more eloquent than I could probably put some really nice words together. But yeah, no, I totally agree. So thank you for that tidbit about the corn flour and for like everybody listening, I am sure we could all use that, especially with like heightened anxiety.
If you’re like me, anxiety throws my digestion and my stomach and everything for a loop. So it could probably use some like chill nourishing, like calming down like medicine. So amazing. Thank you for sharing that.
Elle
Yeah, there was actually something else I was going to mention along those lines, but it escaped me. Um, anyway.
Shelby
Maybe it’ll come back. So. Like what I’m taking from what you said, and you can correct me and please do is like you listened to your intuition first, rather than like outside authority. Like you sort of like ended up like taking in what they were saying, and then you were like, Is this right? Is this true? Is this correct for me? And your intuition was like, maybe let’s play a little bit in like pleasure and fun and nourishment. And so what you came to was this like journaling on what do I like, what deeply feels good. And then that also includes nourishing and healing. And through that. You’ve come to this place that you are now.
So are you willing to elaborate on some of the like life shift that you’ve seen from this like mental shift?
Elle
Yeah, it’s been pretty significant and you noticed it. Cause I sent you an update. An email, quite a lengthy email, like, and I was like super excited going, oh my God. Like, you need to know what’s going on here.
Um, yeah, let’s see if, let me go, try to go back to like the beginning. Um, so like major shifts and things that I manifested like, um, December of 2021, I had my largest amount that I’ve made, um, in a, in a month for the time when I was being like a private contractor self-employed person. So that was like huge. Like I was able to surpass, like, I always had this one, like number goal in mind, and I was like finally able to like surpass that. And, um, let’s see what else has happened? Um, I ended up, um, I had been dancing. I had been a dancer for like five years and I ended up, um, I had got to where I physically couldn’t dance anymore because I was having back issues, uh, like back pain and stuff.
And I knew I was at the point where I was like, I’m going to have to get serious about finding another job, you know, because that was my main job. I was, you know, private contractor, even though I had like little side businesses and stuff going on, um, I had to be like, say to myself, okay, you’re going to have to get serious about trying to find something.
And that was like really scary. Cause you know, I’m, I’m 53 and I, um, and I know once you get to a certain age, it’s not easy to find jobs. And then I had like a big like gap in my work history, you know, because of what I had been doing, you know, prior to this and like, just like the whole thought of like getting out into the work field was like super daunting, you know, and like filling out applications and like sending off resumes and just like, going to interviews is just like, don’t like, oh my God, I just didn’t even want to do it. And so I, um, a friend of mine just posted, um, on his Facebook page that his company that he works for was like hiring. And I like responded like, Hey. You know, could use a job right now. And, uh, he was like, great.
And, um, so, you know, essentially he already knew, you know, my background and what I had been doing for a living and stuff like that. And, um, he’s like, you know, no problem. He kind of had some similar challenges. When he, he had taken some time off from work himself and then got back into the work field, also the, you know, workplace.
Um, and so he kind of knew what that’s like. So he’s like, no problem. Like, you know, we’ll get this figured out. And I’m like, like literally the job just like fell into my lap and I just. Walked in and like, got it. I don’t even know if they interviewed anyone else. I just like, got it. And I’m like, thinking, oh God, this, this is like a miracle.
It’s interesting because the job, I love the job. I really love what I do. And I make like really fairly good money and everything. And, um, I have like, you know, opportunity to get like, you know, benefits and, um, all that, like, you know, all that stuff. But, um, it’s like, it’s difficult because I have a lot of pain. Like I have a lot of chronic pain and stuff. So this job, it like, it’s like really like, it’s a very, very, like physically demanding, even more physically demanding than dancing. So like every day I’m just like, oh my God, like. I just like, I really like it though, I really enjoy it. And so I’m like, I try not to like, worry about like what my limitations are, you know, and just think about what I can do instead of focusing on that.
And let’s see, um, other things I had manifested. I had been needing an MRI for like years. Like I’ve been trying to jump through like three years of hoops just to finally get in for this MRI. And like my first week of working at my new place was like, that very following Monday, I had like an MRI scheduled. So, and I like, that was another like, like, oh, like almost miraculous thing that, that like that happened. Like I got this job and, um, um, let’s see here. And then, um, I had the new opportunity that opened up with this workplace for my flower business, because I, um, I, I was originally gonna just like approach my hiring manager, but I just mentioned it off-hand like to my friend, who’s the leasing manager of the place that I work at. And I was like, Hey, what do you think if I were to, and the place where I work is an apartment complex. And so, um, big, huge, like, beautiful, fancy schmancy apartment complex. And there’s two of them that’s owned by the same people. One has been around for like four years and that’s where my main, um, part of what I do there is at that location, but then the other, one’s like three blocks away and it’s just been built and there’s only like three tenants in it. Um, that building has like 30 units and the main building has like 125, I think, or 128.
And so I, um, my, my friend, that’s the, um, leasing manager. He’s like, I, um, Uh, he’s like, Hey, let’s go to lunch. So we went to lunch and he had these like postcards sitting next to him and they were like in a stack. And, um, it’s for McMenamins, which is like a local, like business that we have here that, um, they’re like restaurants and there’s like, they have like lodges. And then they’ve got like, um, a movie theater and a restaurant and like, uh, it’s like kind of a chain place that’s like family owned, that’s here and in Washington. And they’re like really cool because they take like these old time buildings. Some of them are new, but some of them are old time, but they like, renovate them not to make them look modern, but to keep them looking like super cool, like they do all these like really neat murals in them. And they’re just a super cool place. So he had one, um, there’s like a McMenamins, um, by our, they’re getting all kinds of publicity from me. I don’t know if I should be saying their name, but I love them. They’re like one of my favorite places. One of the only places that I can like eat at, but they have like a little movie theater and, um, a little, uh, Uh, establishment eatery and a movie theater, like right across the street from where I work or just around the corner. And, um, so he had this like stack and it said something like free movie, um, free movie tickets for, and each one was for like their new move ins.
And then that’s when I like brought it up and I’m like, Hey, like, What would you think if I were to bring in like a big bouquet and we put it in the lobby and, um, with my business cards and I’ll just, you know, bring it in for free. And, um, if people want to like order they can just contact me, you know, or just when they see me doing my thing at work, they just stop me and say, Hey, I want a bouquet, or they can get ahold of me. And he’s like, great. He goes, don’t bring it in for free. Give you a five bucks for each bouquet. So, and then, um, he also, um, we had this agreement where anytime there’s like a new move in, they will get a bouquet. And, um, so yeah, I mean, that is like really super cool. Like how cool is that? To just like, they can get a bouquet, like delivered, like while I’m, you know, I work there anyway. So when they place an order, like just come to work and be like, here’s your bouquet. And, you know, and just keep a new bouquet, like every week, a nice fresh bouquet. So, um, yeah, that was another thing that just kinda like happened all at once.
He was like, oh, that’s a great idea. You know? And, um, What else? Um, I don’t know.
Shelby
That’s a lot of magical stuff already.
Elle
Yeah. Oh my God. No, there’s like other things too. I just don’t remember specifically what all, but, uh, yeah.
Shelby
Yeah. I mean, you wrote me like a huge email, so like, I know there’s, there’s a ton more like, this is just for everybody listening, this is just like the tip of the iceberg that like, from Elle’s shift, from money, like on the mind, right? Not just money mindset, but like money, money, money to this like pleasure intuition first, fun, joy, nourishment, healing, like really like giving back to the self is kind of what it sounds like. And like so much has shifted from that. And so I wanted to, like, when you told me that I was like, oh my gosh. Like one, I was like so excited for you, but like also, money mindset can definitely trip us up at times. I have another episode I should talk about, I think it was like the pitfalls of money mindset or something like that. But like, we can really get caught up in the numbers and that’s not necessarily, I would say money mindset, but because we live in societies in which like, they are very number focused, like that number can mean your survival or it can mean struggles.
Elle
Right.
Shelby
Yeah. Like it, it can be a big deal. So I think like, yeah, sometimes we get caught up in the numbers, but to hear you say, like, I intentionally shifted from that to this, this pleasure, this focus on like joy in the self and that everything else kind of naturally cascaded, like really like it wasn’t just like, “da da da” it was like, *ascending noise*.
Elle
Oh, yeah, right. It was like one thing after another, after another, after another. And oh, another thing I will mention was the property that my, uh, my housemate was just like, she came to me, it was on Christmas. She came to me on Christmas and she was like, Uh, we’re going to be getting some property, which is like something we’ve talked about. And so she couldn’t, she didn’t know how she was going to be able to like, figure it out like money-wise, but she was able to finagle it to where we’re going to get some property. And it’s going to be like, just outside of Portland, you know, maybe like 20, like 20 or 30 miles away from Portland, just like on the outskirts, like in, um, like, not in a town, but more, more kind of a rural, not super rural, but just, you know, kind of an area. And I will be able to have my, my. Right now I have a little mini flower farm here and like I live in the city and it’s just like a plot of land, like just a yard really. And we just turned it into like a big garden and we call it a flower farm.
And, um, but I’ll actually be able to have a real flower farm, you know, and we’ll be able to start off small and just kinda like expand from there. So that was like the other thing that happened too, I was like, oh my gosh, like, you know, like a new job for the new year. And then, you know, like property coming up sometime sometime like this year, we’ll probably be moving and we’ll be selling, um, the house and stuff and moving.
And so, um, but the other thing that I wanted to say that has been like a key thing for me is, um, That I’ll mention in all this is that for a long time, like very soon after I got into like having a money, being aware of money mindset and like having that be my focus, one of the crucial things they had learned was that to just trust that you will have money. Like, you know, put your, where, whatever you put your faith into, whether it’s, you know, yourself or the goddess or the universe or God, or whatever, every single coach that I’ve ever had has always said, just know that once you like verbalize it or write it or put that conscious thought out into the universe, I don’t know how it works, but, and you believe it. And for the longest time I’ve just been, I would just believe that my needs will be taken care of. And they always, they have been. They always, they, they just are, you know, once I really had that, like, Like that became a focus, you know? And so that’s always like, in the back of my mind, like when I’ll be like, oh man, maybe I shouldn’t be just like sitting back and just doing these things, you know, maybe I should like, you know, like do something else, you know?
And like, almost like, you know, feel like guilty or be like, uh, feeling like, oh, I just like, I shouldn’t be doing these things, you know? And to, um, hold on I’m like losing my train of thought and like totally thinking about something else that I should be like bringing up. But no, to just like, not worry about it, to be just like, you know, what my needs are going to be taken care of when I had that specific, like, focus that’s happened.
Like, so I think that goes hand in hand with having like the pleasure mindset, you know, first I think you have to have this, like, knowing, like, just knowing your needs are going to be taken care of. And then like the second half of that is like, being like, you know what, this is what lights me up, and what makes me happy. And this is what I want to focus on, you know, because just focusing so much of my time on just like money, money, money, like right now I’m, I’m, uh, I am journaling and then I’m meditating and I’m taking this class and, you know, after a while it gets exhausting. And it’s like, I mean, at first it’s fun, you know? Cause I’m like, Ooh, I’m working with this new person and working with a coach and I’m taking this class and I know it’s going to like turn up with something good. But after a while it’s like, you know what? Like, like, no, I, I just, I want to have fun.
Shelby
Yeah, I love that. And so just to reiterate to everybody too, like, um, the, the core of kind of like your belief system is that like your needs are always taken care of, they will always be met. It’s kind of like that foundation. And then on top of that, you’ve been able to then prioritize pleasure and fun, and joy, um, because like you’re taken care of. You know? Like you trust, you know, so you don’t have to worry about, and like mind, perseverate, and like cycle on all of these things. Like. Put that aside. So those thoughts and things can go aside so you can focus on the pleasure in the front.
Elle
And I don’t have to feel guilty because I’m like enjoying myself, which this brings me back to another point. Remember, um, there was another time where I was having issues with my back.
Shelby
Yes.
Elle
And I, um, you remember, cause we were working together at that point in time and I was like super worried about like, are my needs going to get taken care of, am I going to, you know, be able to make money? And I was just like, like for like three days just sitting back on my bed, but I always had that. I was like, I thought to myself, like, I’m not going to worry. I’m not going to like, you know, feel guilty because I, well, for one, my back went out and I couldn’t do anything but lay on my bed. And I’m just like, you know what, everything will be fine. And remember that was like, um, those three days I had like, Um, like orders from on Etsy. And I had like, um, orders on Facebook, like all these like orders and stuff just came, you know?
And I was just sitting there watching Netflix, you know?
Shelby
Yeah. You were healing. You’re just letting yourself be.
Elle
Right. And that’s what I’ve been noticing a lot. Like I’ve had to, um, just take a lot more time to just, um, take care of myself and nurture myself, you know, because I’ve been having a lot of like pain issues and stuff.
And, uh, but always in the back of my mind, I just keep thinking I’m taking care of, and you know, I’m either like, Doing something to directly like make myself like happy or experience some pleasure or just to like relax or heal or nurture myself. So just keeps going back to that.
Shelby
I love it. I wouldn’t say it’s full circle. It’s been lots of like mini circles. Like, um, yeah, I don’t know. I was trying to think of like a design, but like, I couldn’t like, um, is it the seed of like flower of life? That’s lots of like the circles. Maybe the seed of life. Um, this, everybody can go look it up and confirm for me
Elle
I need to look that up! It has something to do with flowers?
Shelby
Yes!
Elle
Oh my God. That’s amazing.
Shelby
Yeah! So I think it’s the seed of life is just like, like it starts as like the little circles and then as it grows into like the flower of life, it’s, it’s more circles. There’s triangles and like it’s a sacred geometry thing. Um, but I always get like, yeah.
Elle
That’s wild!
Shelby
Yeah, I always get the things mixed up though. So, um, so everybody needs to go look.
Elle
That’s wild because it directly has something to do with me!
Shelby
Yeah that’s great! I hope you enjoy it. And I hope you like make some connections from it.
Elle
Yeah. I kind of want to touch base on that still. Um, like all the circles, like each circle has been like a new aha moment too. Like, like, oh, wow. Oh, wow. Like, like connecting the dots.
Shelby
Yeah. I love that. I, so I think you will enjoy once you get a chance to look it up the, the flower of life, seed of life thing. Um, cause it is like points and then it’s flowers and then like it’s connections. I think you’ll love it. Um, and, okay, awesome. So like this has been really good. I’ve really enjoyed this. I think, like I’ve gotten a lot from it. And I love talking to you and I love hearing from you.
Elle
I love talking to you and hearing from you too.
Shelby
Um, and I think like, this is gonna like, okay, everybody, who’s gonna be listening to this like, right now we’re recording it and then obviously like, you’ll be listening to it later, but I think this is good. I think this is a huge service because especially in our like many capitalist societies, like it’s work first and like survival first and like grind like nose to the grindstone first and you’re directly reprioritizing pleasure, which is almost in direct opposition to that. Right?
Elle
I would say, yeah.
Shelby
Yeah, so like, I think this is, this is a really good shift for everybody. So if you are having a harder time, Money mindset, to everybody listening, please give this a try. Do, do the Elle like pleasure mindset method here, like journal on what you like, what like, what deeply feels good, what’s nourishing and healing for you, which may look different between like me and you and the next person kind of thing. And like, really start to explore that because. Like that’s what money is there to do. But sometimes we have to go about things in a different direction, a different circle. Sometimes we got to take a different circle. Right? So, yeah. And I love this. Do you have anything else that you want to add Elle?
Elle
I do. I notice we’ve got a little bit more time and there’s something else that I want to touch base on, which, um, it kinda ties into, um, what I had been doing, you know, how I used to like, um, I was like a coach, like a sexuality coach for a while and stuff like that. Um, like there’s so much, that’s like coming into my head all of a sudden, like, um, like I had, like certain doors are closing and other doors are opening and stuff. And I was kind of closing the door on all that. Like I had been blogging about sex and sexuality for so long. And then, um, It was like it’s so weird. My mind is like exploding right now because I’m like having all these like thoughts and stuff, but it’s almost like I couldn’t make it work. Like I could not make being like a sexuality coach work. It just like, I don’t know. It just, I don’t, it’s hard to explain, but, um, What I have to say next goes along with that though. Like, I’m not doing the coaching. I’m not doing the blogging about it. I’m not dancing, but I would say that um, working with my sacral chakra too has been probably, I would say kind of instrumental in all this, you know, um, because during this time period, I had also been like, you know, working with the Jade egg and like getting more in touch with like self-pleasure.
And, you know, the sacral chakra is the chakra like that area is what creates life. It’s what, you know, you tap into when you want to create something. So, um, that’s what I almost feel like it’s… it’s like holistic. It’s like our whole body and everything is connected. You know, we, we are connected to our sacral chakra and our wombs … you know, women, well, I’m not going to get into all that.
Shelby
People who have wombs.
Elle
People who have wombs. Right.
Shelby
Your womb space.
Elle
Yeah. Right. Um, so it’s all a part of it. So I believe that that also ties into the things that I have manifested and created. So it, I felt like I had to mention that like at the end, so you would know that there was another element to it, at least in my mindset and my, um, belief system. It’s all a part of everything holistic. It goes back to the circle again, right. To me.
Shelby
Yeah.
Elle
So yeah, tapping, tapping into that qhole area and like giving it attention helped to manifest and create things. If that makes sense.
Shelby
Yeah. Yeah. I actually was wondering if like self pleasure and stuff was a part of the pleasure piece. Um, like, just so everybody’s aware here. Um, I don’t get into it very much, but like, like when we talk on the podcast, but like, this is very much like, a pro self pleasure, pro self exploration, pro sex, pro sex work like space. So. The fact that like, I think we’re touching on this is super important too, because like, we, we need to know these things like
Elle
Absolutely. Yeah, right. Yeah.
Shelby
I love how it, like, again, like there was that circle in your life and it’s kind of connected in like a different way and like it’s coming, coming together.
Elle
Right. Yeah.
Shelby
Well, thank you for adding that. Cause it sounds like it’s very important to your journey and it could be very important or a, uh, integral piece or even just a fun piece to play with for people.
So connecting with the sacral and the sexual energies and the creation energies and your womb space, if you have one, you know, like really bringing in this holistic piece to the whole pleasure, enjoy experience.
Elle
Right. Absolutely.
Shelby
Oh, I love it. I love it. Was there, again, so I’m going to ask again, if there was anything else that you wanted to add.
Elle
I don’t think so. I think I kind of summed it up pretty well there.
Shelby
Yeah. I think you did too. But sometimes like if my brain and I make space for everybody’s brain to do this, it’s like, sometimes it’s like, oh yeah, let me grab that real quick. Like I have this piece over here. That’s tied to that. So, yeah. So I, I will, again, if for everybody you’re scrolling down to the, um, the show notes, we will all list out the things so that it’s like nice and together. Um, I’ve been jotting down notes as we’ve been talking. So like, we can like have this nice succinct thing. Um, I also will have this transcribed, uh, with a software, so it won’t be like a perfect transcription, but we will get this transcribed. So if you need to go back and reference that you will have that as well. So you’ll be able to see, like a succinct thing and you’ll be able to see our journey mapped out if your brain absorbs it better that way. Um, so, so thank you Elle for being here and sharing everything.
Elle
Yeah. Thank you for having me.
Shelby
Yeah, I enjoyed it too. Um, and so again for everybody go visit Elle’s social media’s, website, Etsy shop. We’ll have all the links in the show description. And like, go visit the blog, go order flowers if you happen to be in Portland. Um, but if not go visit the blog because as Elle said, like it has amazing resources for things you can do all times of the year with flowers and plants and just fun, self nourishment things.
Elle
There’s food, there’s crafts, all kinds of stuff.
Shelby
Yes.
Elle
I think I might make some, uh, chocolate bark. Oh, also I will mention all my recipes are, um, gluten free. Um, they are, um, refined sugar free. I have a lot of vegan recipes on there. I’m not specifically vegan, but I do have a lot of vegan type recipes on there.
So that might be important. But right now I think I might make some, um, chocolate bark with like macadamia nuts and, um, flower petals or, uh, rose petals. And if that recipe works out, it’s one I’m like kind of experimenting with, I will put it on my blog, so, but, uh, I have to experiment with it first. So if my, um, rose petal and macadamia chocolate bark works out really good, then look forward to that.
Shelby
All right. I’ll look forward to that too. Okay. All of us, we will all be staying tuned for that. And what a fun thing to do, we’re recording on a Friday. So what a fun thing to do on a Friday, which is Venus day. And so like all about pleasure. Fun. Yay.
So again, thank you for being here. Thank you everybody for listening and, you know, keep listening to the podcast, go visit all the links and look out for that, ah, rose pedal and macadamia nut chocolate bark recipe on Elle’s website. And we will see you all soon.
