Welcome to the 28th episode of the Money Mindset Shift with me, Shelby Melissa! In this episode, I want to share a little secret, a hack if you will, to the Limitless Money Mindset Journal – and that is the versatility of the journal! (If you couldn’t tell from the title of this episode).

This is totally incentive to order the journal if you haven’t already! You can order it at – https://amzn.to/3EGkua6
And as always, the link is in the show notes as well.

If you do have the Limitless Money Mindset Journal, go grab it! You can follow along!

As you know, or can infer from the title of the journal, it provides tested journaling prompts that get you thinking, reflecting, and shifting your relationship with money. Thus, the prompts ask you about money – how you feel about it, what things come up when you think about money, etc.

So, how exactly is the journal versatile if it focuses on money mindset?
Well, for many of the prompts, if you change the focus of the question, you’ve got prompts for whatever else you want to dive into!

Let’s play with these a little bit.

For example:
Prompt 27 is “What fears or concerns am I noticing coming up around money?”
If you want to look at selling, for example. Like the act of sharing about your offers, or hopping on sales calls – you can substitute it in for “money.”

Here is what that would look like:
“What fears or concerns am I noticing coming up around selling?”

You can also break it down into specifics around selling, like I mentioned.
“What fears or concerns am I noticing coming up around hopping on sales calls?”

And that’s just one example. Let’s do another!

Prompt 78 is a longer one – it says “What kinds of relationships with spending did I see in the world around me growing up? What do I see in the world around me now? How has this informed or impacted my relationship with spending?”

So you can see that prompt 78 focuses on spending in these various forms, and the things that we’ve learned about it.

So instead of spending, let’s rewrite this prompt to be about working and production. Building a business can be hard work, and work in general can be very demanding.

Here’s a way to reimagine Prompt 78 – “What kinds of relationships with work / working did I see in the world around me growing up? What do I see in the world around me now? How has this informed or impacted my relationship to work and working?”

Now, this one, in particular, is actually very helpful if you’re looking to deconstruct your thoughts and relationships with work and production, because, if you haven’t heard me talk about it before, there are the Three P’s. We’ve got the pressure to Perform, Produce, and Profit.

And work and production fall under Produce. Although they can also fall under Perform and Profit. So you may be performing the role of a hard worker by working late nights, by getting up early, etc.

The Produce part usually comes into production. The things that are the outcomes. There’s a lot of pressure to meet outcomes, right? To do life, not just in certain ways, but to meet certain goals.

And then Profit is, profit. That one’s a little self-explanatory.

So give that one a try if you’re looking to change how you relate to work especially in your business because you are the boss. You create a different work culture and it doesn’t have to be the same that you’ve experienced in a 9-5, in an hourly wage job, retail, etc.

But, getting back to the versatility of the prompts. Those few examples, you can see the prompts really are versatile!

But this is doubly true for the assessment at the beginning of the journal.
The assessment is made up of the first 5 prompts. Let me list them for you.

Prompt 1 – How do I feel about money?
Prompt 2 – How do I want to feel about / towards money?
Prompt 3 – What are my goals?
Prompt 4 – On a scale from 1-10, how satisfied am I with the relationship? (1 being not at all, 10 being completely satisfied.)
Prompt 5 – On a scale from 1-10, how close do I feel to my goals/vision? (1 being not at all, 10 being “I’m living it!”)

I was talking to my friend Lori, on IG as @improvide.with.lori. She messaged me one day and we were discussing social media.

She noticed a disconnect between where she was with social media, and where she wanted to be. Guess where this fits in with the assessment! Prompts 1, 2, and 3!

The purpose of Prompts 1 through 3 is to get an idea of where you are and where you want to be. Basically, giving you point A and point B.

I reflected this to her, and mentioned that it could be fun to use the rest of the assessment from the journal – just tweaking the focus from money to social media.

For the scaling questions, Prompts 4 and 5, they became –

On a scale from 1-10, how satisfied are you with your social media?
On a scale from 1-10, how close do you feel to your goal regarding social media?

And I added the question, “what would it look like to be a point or two closer to 10 on either one?” And this is a prompt you will also see in the Money Mindset Journal related to money.

Lori was able to identify a number right away, giving her a starting point for further reflection and mapping!

She also invited me to share the versatility of the journal with you, so you’ll have to head over to IG and thank her!

Depending on the topic or theme you are looking to explore, you may have to do a little more tweaking with the prompts from the Limitless Money Mindset Journal. But yeah! It is really easy to leverage them! And you really can apply them to any area of life or business.

So I really encourage you to try it out.

And if you have already, share them with me on Instagram! You can tag me @shelbymelissaor share them via DM so I can see them!

And don’t forget to share this episode if you enjoyed it! Sharing is caring over here.

But also, know that the tools that you have, regardless of whatever area they apply to in your life or your business, can usually be extrapolated, or shifted or flipped, or just adjusted a little bit to be used in other areas of your life as well.

You have an amazing toolbox already. Don’t discount the things that you have learned, the coping skills that you’ve acquired, and the knowledge that you already have.

Again, please share this episode! Tell me what you think on Instagram, and I look forward to seeing you in the next episode which consequently is our interview with Lori, who we just talked about! So you’ll want to check in on that one. Don’t miss it. It’ll be out in 2 weeks.

I love you, and see you soon!
